    Csaba Balási

The whole is a lot more than the summary of parts. Nevertheless, a sensitive look of an artist at the details can be indicative of the entirety and can be conducive to formulating new meanings. His photos of snow-covered, sandy and clayey soil have shown the multi-faceted surface of the earth, and at the same time carrying a variety of images and symbols of a new world, segmenting not only time and space but also pointing out the limits and possibilities of the choices human beings can take in this world of ours. Because life is also a series of choices, decisions, stepping over thresholds, overcoming difficulties that are experienced differently in minor details, but essentially in the same way by people of the four quarters of the world as they are all human beings sharing the same priorities of life and existence. This is the clue to his art, this is how he has discovered the beauties of the gateways in the Orient, the gaunt figures of women in the Carpatian Ukraine, and the unfathomable treasures of the Hortobágy puszta. For state of art photography you need not only a first class camera, but also keen eyes with a sensitive soul behind. This is what makes the photos of Csaba Balási a unique experience.
